Maximilian Funfgeld is the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at the Luxembourg Institute of Health
(LIH). In this role, he focuses on leading the development of a secure and innovative IT ecosystem to support biomedical research and healthcare projects, such as Clinnova. His responsibilities include the integration and analysis of diverse health data, enabling researchers and clinicians to advance patient care through data-driven insights.
Fünfgeld has a strong background in computer science, healthcare, and data science, having previously led IT teams and medical data integration centers in Germany before joining LIH. His current work is instrumental in developing transnational data infrastructures that aim to transform precision medicine by ensuring the interoperability and secure sharing of health data across borders.
Additionally, Fünfgeld plays an active role in international collaborations to promote innovation in healthcare IT and data management.
